Sun glass lenses are often CR39 plastics with tints. The untinted CR39 has UV filtering properties before it is tinted by soaking in a bath of the dye which it absorbs. Prolonged soaking in a bleach will cause the lens to loose its colour, but not affect the absorption spectrum of the lens. This would not happen with the diluted chlorine in swimming pool water.
