NBC Universal, Fox News Network and Fox Television Stations are filing a lawsuit against Redlasso, alleging the Web site is improperly making available video clips of their copyrighted programming. Redlasso allows users to create embeddable clips of video and audio footage.

Ohio resident Diane Wargo, who lost her job after Perez Hilton posted an email in which she called him a "fat gay pig," is suing the celebrity blogger for $25 million for publishing her name and e-mail address, which she claims triggered an onslaught of angry letters and phone calls.

Pint-sized AUSTIN POWERS star VERNE TROYER is suing a celebrity website after it published footage of the star allegedly engaging in sexual acts in a home-made raunchy tape. The diminutive actor/comic has filed a $20 million lawsuit against TMZ.com, accusing the site of violating his rights by publishing and airing extracts from the film. In papers filed at a Los Angeles court, Troyer claims that TMZ.com "infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions" after it ran parts of the tape on its site, according to the website itself.
TMZ.com also claim Troyer alleges the site violated "his right to publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness." The footage features the star and a former girlfriend at his apartment, and reportedly ended up in the hands of sex tape specialist Kevin Blatt, who brokered the deal for Paris Hilton's infamous sex tape One Night In Paris. Troyer alleges the tape was stolen. Blatt is also named as a defendant in the suit, according to website.
A lawsuit filed against Google alleges that the search company puts profits ahead of user protection by refusing to ban online advertising for fraudulent mobile services, despite evident ad policy violations. Google is "driven by financial motivations," the complaint says.
Cynthia Tessler, a media producer, is suing NBC for allegedly ripping off programming about taking care of elderly parents. Tessler says she brought the idea for "Parenting Your Parent" to NBC in 2001. Later, NBC created "Trading Places," an ongoing series on "NBC Nightly News."

TV star DUANE 'DOG' CHAPMAN is facing legal action from a producer on his reality show DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER - who has accused the star of "psychotic behaviour". Actor Boris Krutonog - Chapman's former agent - worked as an executive producer on the TV series but is now suing the show's network A&E. He is accusing programme bosses of failing to pay his salary, cutting him out of agreed DVD royalties and creating an "intolerable and hostile workplace". Man! That's a lot of crap!
Krutonog, who is best known for his role in Star Trek: Voyager, has slammed Chapman and his wife Beth - accusing the TV network of failing to restrain the couple during "episodes of psychotic behaviour". Krutonog was eventually removed from his position for refusing to work on the show. Legal papers filed at New York Supreme Court reveal Krutonog is seeking over $800,000 (£400,000) in damages as well as attorney fees.
Chapman has now responded to the allegations through his attorney Marty Singer, who tells TMZ.com, "It is unfortunate that Boris Krutonog, who was Dog Chapman's and Beth Chapman's former agent and manager, has made gratuitous, ridiculous and outrageous statements about his former clients. Mr. Krutonog was fired for cause more than two years ago after he refused to work on the series."
Dolly Parton is hitting back against "The Howard Stern Show," which manipulated recordings from one her audio books into seemingly racist and sexually graphic sound bites. "If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this," says Parton. "I am completely devastated."
A federal court jury is clearing News Corp.'s NDS unit of satellite television piracy charges in a suit brought by DISH Network that could have been worth more than $1 billion. The jury is awarding only $1,500 in damages from NDS for a single test incident with a satellite TV smart card.

In an unusual move, the U.S. Justice Department is suing Fox Broadcasting and Sinclair to collect $56,000 in fines for the 2003 broadcast of a "raunchy" reality show. Fox's appeal was "returned without consideration," because its claim was 14 pages over the limit. Fox dubs the decision "offensive."
Gibson Guitar is filing a lawsuit against Electronic Arts and Viacom units MTV and Harmonix for infringing a patent by selling Activision's "Guitar Hero" video game. "Guitar Hero," which lets players strum along to music videos on a toy guitar, has generated more than $1 billion in sales. All they want is a chunk of the sales in my opinion! Gibson said the games, in which players use a guitar-shaped controller in time with notes on a television screen, violate a 1999 patent for technology to simulate a musical performance.
Boxing Promoter Don King was in Broward County court Thursday as part of his legal fight against sports conglomerate ESPN, which he claims defamed him in a 2004 documentary that portrayed him as a con artist and bully.
Kirstie Alley, the actress-turned-weight loss queen, is taking legal action against a tabloid which reported that she was fired by the dieting company Jenny Craig for being too fat. Alley, best known for her role in the TV show 'Cheers', had resigned from Jenny Craig after being with them for three years, contactmusic.com reports. A few days later she revealed that she was going to launch her own dieting firm in 2009. But she is upset with the tabloid for claiming that she was fired for being too fat and now wants to sue them.
She said: 'It's hurtful and harmful to me. I'm going to litigate. It's chronic and has been chronic for the last three years. This one (false report) is extremely damaging.'
