Most of you know that I arrived from Nigeria to Toronto in June 2007, the week after a school shooting here. I was not surprised I said, as school shootings is a "normal" thing back in the States when I lived there. Wait a minute? Those don't happen here. It was a first for Toronto which I never knew. Is Toronto starting to look like America and the gun? You be the judge. Does the media have to do with any of that phenomenon? Nigerian TV for example cannot air CSI, Law and Order and certain shows. You can watch it on DSTV, the "Rogers cable" of Africa. Cable companies have to assess these issues too. The concept of free speech in some of these countries defeats that. Hope we never become one of those listed! VERY SAD!
